the ships are so much slower because they are damaged, almost crewless and also out of fleet and cant be put into a fleet until they dock (which makes them vulnerable to TW too) : that's why (I think) the ridiculous turn cost shows up : its pretty common event over the years and has never been 'fixed' so, one presumes, it is intended or considered harmless by the devs.

1. You cannot plunder a fleet, only a ship.
2. Instant travel works on fleets, not ships. - Source : Captain Jack

If this is the case, then why give the option to "Instant".

One more caught at the snare. :D

Edit: Danik is right, we never bothered to fix this as it appears like a nice "rare" event to get. Yes, we do like it, so Wolfie is right too.

Hardly a "nice" event to get. If someone steals a ship with the intent of keeping it, this makes that completely impossible. Having a high value ship out of fleet for a full day right after you stole it means it will be commandeered back - or worse. The only possible thing to do with such ships is to sell them. I don't think that "forcing" players to sell ships that are stolen while sailing is a good idea. Sure, a lot of raiders sell the ships they steal anyway, but this makes it actually compulsory to do so for everyone.

I suppose it could also be ravaged too : but that's a consequence of hitting a travelling fleet : in reality, your prize crew had to get it back to port and would never have been able to fight the ship with such a small crew, so it was always vulnerable.

I actually had this same glitch with LordAv's SoTL when I took it. I was forced to sell on the spot.

I can't imagine this happening with an MoW that you wanted to keep. That would s**k.
